The challenge

What needed to change

The operator attracted registrations but too few users completed a first deposit. The work focused on the experience after signup and the points where players might abandon the deposit journey.

The approach

How this result was achieved

  1. Define the conversion funnel

Measured the steps between completed registration and a successful first deposit with a consistent outcome definition.

  2. Inspect the player experience

Reviewed registration handoffs, deposit navigation, mobile usability, validation messages and other potential friction points.

  3. Prioritise the fixes

Focused on clearer calls to action, simpler navigation and less confusing progress feedback before adding new acquisition spend.

  4. Measure completed deposits

Evaluated progress against deposits completed, not just registration volume or clicks on a payment button.

The reported outcome

The case reports a move from 2.2% to 33%, a difference of 30.8 percentage points. Because the starting denominator, cohort mix and measurement windows have not been disclosed, the figures should not be treated as a controlled before-and-after experiment.

Different operator, similar challenge? The approach depends on your funnel, data and constraints.
